Firmware 1.93 Matrix Infinity Software
Hi all I bought a PS2 chipped with official Matrix Inifinty from a charity shop. Opened it up and it has the green dot and it also updates the firmware so it is confirmed not a clone.
- Jun 08, 2009 11. Hey guys, I sent an e-mail to mod-chip.com about which mod chip they would recommend and the differences between Matrix Infinity 1.93 and 1.99; I told them I had a slim and that I was told 1.93 was the latest firmware Matrix Infinity released. They replied simply by stating 'Matrix Infinity 1.99 is the chip we recommend that you get, it's.

However it will only boot PAL PS2 games (both DVD and CD) and nothing else. I have tried PAL, US and Jap NTSC PSX games and also backups, an Import US NTSC PS2 game as well as a couple of burned PS2 games and nothing will boot. I have managed to upgrade the firmware to 1.82 but would like to get it up to 1.93 ( the latest I believe) to eliminate a firmware issue. I have been over to SKS Apps to download the latest but when I download the 1.93 firmware and burn it it shows on my PS2 as 1.82 firmware. Also tried a few other sites but every single file I download which states '1.93' in the file name is in fact 1.82. I burning coasters here so was wondering if someone can please help me by directing me a to 'confirmed' 1.93 firmware? I already opened a thread here which will detail a bit more what the problem is and what I have doen so far but the thread went quiet I think because it was in the wrong section.
I will eventually take the PS2 apart to have a look inside to see if it is installed correctly but I would like to get the latest firmware installed before I do that to confirm it is not a firmware issue. Thanks for any help that you can provide.
